Prepare a client website handover report without overclaiming

A useful client report does not need an inflated readiness score. It needs a clear page identity, a capture date, understandable findings and a list of work outside the test’s scope. That makes it easier for the recipient to decide what to verify next.

A practical check

  1. Include the page address and capture time. Capture the actual rendered page rather than a mockup.
  2. For each check, attach the observed value or count. Distinguish a missing item from an item you did not test.
  3. Open the exported HTML report, review it, and print to PDF if the recipient needs a PDF copy.

Example

Check: Exactly one H1
Result: Needs attention
Evidence: 2 H1 elements
Remaining work: Confirm intended heading structure

Know the scope

LaunchLedger reports basic presence checks. An empty alt attribute is permitted for decorative images; the quality of alternative text is untested. A detected input label does not prove full accessibility. Use a separate accessibility review for that purpose, and keep the report’s limitations attached when sharing it.
